We need your help to keep The PT Project up and running!
The PT Project was developed as an innovative resource that connects PTs around the world and provides information, ideas, valuable education and stories of interest to those within the community. While the initial concept was conceived and developed by just five individuals, in order to keep The PT Project moving forward and to make this resource all that it can be, we need your help!
Don’t get nervous – we’re not asking for money…
Here’s the deal…we need you to contribute content!
We believe The PT Project can be the best free resource on the net for those in the field of PT. But “free” doesn’t mean “cheap” or “easy” – so while the content and resources are free to read, it costs us quite a bit of time and money to keep this site going.
To get this site to where it is today, we have already spent over $57,000 on web development and hosting. Add to that the fact that Ryan Orser has spent about 25 hours per week keeping the site going and keeping the content fresh. As you can see, running a site like this is difficult and a bit expensive.
We’re committed to keep hosting the site, and the members of our practice will continue to devote time to it, but we need additional contributors, additional content – basically additional input in just about any form. It has never been our intention to monetize this site, and we want to be able to keep The PT Project running and keep the content fresh, while not “selling out”.
So what can you do to help?
Become a contributor – plain and simple.
The hardest part about keeping this site going and making it worthwhile for you to read is the constant need for fresh content. The more content we can add, the better this resource is for everyone. And we need content anytime you can contribute it – today, tomorrow, next week, next year. As long as this site is here, we need to keep our content fresh and need to keep sharing ideas and information. Our goal is to bring PTs from across the globe together to better the community as a whole.
What value do you get as a contributor?
We provide a great venue to market yourself (see my post about “How to Market Yourself Using the PT Project”). You also get the satisfaction of knowing you have contributed something towards the “greater good” within the field of PT.
Think you “can’t do it”?
The biggest reason we hear to explain why people don’t want to submit content is “I’m too embarrassed” or” I’m not sure that people want to read what I have to say”. Well, we encourage you to just “get over it”. Some of the best content is the most outlandish, and anything you submit will be of interest to someone and may teach them or tell them something they don’t know – just as the articles you’ve read so far on this site may have done for you.
Still more excuses …
- “I don’t have time.” – Don’t worry. The best content is usually short and to the point.
- “I’m not a great writer.” – Guess what? You don’t have to be an award winning writer in order to contribute something of value.
- “I don’t like to write.” – Send that excuse out the window. Videos are a super easy way to share content. All you need to do is upload them onto YouTube and we’ll post them for you.
Come on, help us out. We want to keep the conversation going and we want to continue the mission of The PT Project. Our goal was to bring together the best PTs in the world and to offer a way to connect, share and educate each other. Sure, it may be a lofty goal, but we’re already read in over 170 countries – and we know we’re making a difference.
So, why not join the conversation?
