The Snow Shoveling Workout

Mother nature really seems to have an agenda this winter and I want to make sure that we are all prepared. As a PT I am always applying my knowledge to every activity of daily living. From being sure to activate my transverse abdominis when I’m getting out of bed (subtly bring your belly button up and in) to performing a modified Romanian dead lift while brushing my teeth (keep the back straight and hinge at the hips) the principles of physical therapy are all around us which brings me to my most recent arduous task … shoveling snow

Here are the 5 exercises that will best prepare you for the inevitable elements .. please reply with comments:

1. Hammer curls
2. Biceps curls
3. Bent over rows
4. Forward shoulder raises
5. Lunges
