Just Passing, Thought I’d Drop In….

A month or so ago I was in New York for a few days between the International Continence Society meeting in Toronto and four weeks of clinical teaching and business building workshops for physiotherapists in the UK and Ireland.  During this stopover I visited Adam and Luke at their Columbus Circle facility of NY SportsMed and Physical Therapy.  What a great place to work – overlooking Central Park and right across the street from Dizzy’s (jazz venue).

I was made very welcome and it was great to put faces to names.  The committment of these guys and their colleagues is just fantastic – they want physical therapy to be as good as it possibly can, and then a bit more.  A philosophy shared by me and my wife Mary O’Dwyer (women’s health and continence physiotherapist).  And obviously shared by all the contributors and comment makers on the blog site.

Mary and I are now both contributing to The PT Project and proud to be working with such a professional team.  We are even more excited about bringing our clinical workshops to the USA in 2011 with the assistance of the PT Project team.  More on this later when we sort out timings and venues.

Hold it Sister: The Confident Girl's Guide to a Leak Free LifeMeanwhile, Mary’s book ‘Hold It Sister – the confident girls guide to a leak-free lifeis available in the USA via Amazon.com with only local shipping costs from the fulfilment depot in Brooklyn.  This book is ideal for therapists looking for current evidence based management of women’s health issues such as continence, prolapse, pelvic pain and low back pain.  AND your clients will love it too!  All women find the book relevant, accessible and valuable in their own health.  If you want to retail the book in your clinic there is a discount price for bulk orders.  Email the publishers at sales@redsok.com.au to express your interest.

Thanks for the shout out. We have put a whole lot of time (and money) into this thing. We are blessed to have a practice that has the resources to maintain it. And we are very happy and proud to have contributors or your caliber from around the world! Thank you!
