Jason Smith

 Jason graduated in 1997 with honors from the School of Physiotherapy Melbourne University, awarded Dux of his year, and topping the Dean's Honor List 3 years consecutively.

 Together with his wife they founded the Back In Motion Health Group in 2000 with the vision of becoming the preferred provider of physiotherapy and related services in Australia. Jason and his team have worked passionately to build their physiotherapy group into a highly successful multi-million dollar venture.  They currently have more than 25 practices in Victoria and South Australia and are soon to launch into other states. Back In Motion is currently rated by the BRW in Australia’s top 10 fastest growing franchises 3 consecutive years for 2008  2009 and 2010 -  and was winner of the FCA Emerging Franchise System of the Year 2008 (Vic/Tas). Jason has been profiled in a recently published Best Selling book titled “Top Franchise CEOs: Secrets Revealed”.

As the executive Group Director Jason's main role now is to provide leadership to his rapidly expanding health group. He is responsible for strategic planning, the research and development of evidence-based clinical services, policy development, practice sales and acquisition, and management training.

Member of numerous physiotherapy associations, CEO groups and other special interest business forums, Jason is a popular presenter both within and outside his industry and writes many articles to encourage and support the success of physiotherapy in Australia.  

With the higher calling always in mind, Jason and Paulina believe passionately in using their skills and resources to reach out and impact the lives of those less fortunate. Their profits help fund numerous welfare organizations, church-work, community support and medical programs for developing countries. Most recently, BIM was awarded the FCA National Franchisor of the Year 2009 for Social Responsibility because of the work they have done through the not for profit benevolent institution they have created called the SOS Foundation.

Proud father of 3 young boys, Jason's interests outside of work include relaxing with family, playing tennis, traveling, home renovating, motor bike riding, camping in the outdoors and working closely with his local Christian Church.
