Brian Hoke
Brian R. Hoke, D.P.T., S.C.S.
Brian received his degree in Physical Therapy with Highest Distinction from Indiana University and earned his post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University. His clinical experience has been specialized the realm of orthopaedic and sports physical therapy, with a particular focus the biomechanical basis for lower extremity rehabilitation Brian is board certified as a Sports Clinical Specialist by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. He has been an active faculty member of the popular continuing education seminar “When the Feet Hit the Ground, Everything Changes” since 1985 and co-developed the Advanced level course “Take the Next Step” in 1990. Brian is the Director and co-owner of Atlantic Physical Therapy in Virginia Beach, VA.
It has been postulated that the development and refinement of modern running shoes has shielded the runner from useful proprioceptive and nociceptive feedback and has encouraged a longer stride with primary impact at the heel.
